Do you stay with your job as a teacher or do you set out on your own to become a private tutor or own a Tuition Centre?
Choosing between a teacher job and a tuition center can be a difficult decision. Teacher jobs provide stability, job security, and the opportunity to have a positive impact on the lives of students. Tuition centers, on the other hand, provide more flexibility, the potential for higher earnings, and the opportunity to work with students on a more individualized basis.
When considering which option is right for you, firstly it’s important to evaluate your own goals and preferences. Are you looking for a long-term career or a short-term opportunity? Are you more interested in working with a large group of students or on a one-on-one basis? Do you prefer the stability of a teacher job or the flexibility of a tuition center? No matter which option you choose, there are some key things to consider. Additionally, the hours can be long and the pay may not be as high as in a tuition center. At a tuition center, you’ll have the opportunity to work with students on a more individualized
As a teacher…
You have the chance to progress through your career, change schools, choose where you live, and get promoted.
Receive a good pension and get holiday and sickness pay.
You also have endless meetings, work long hours and are sometimes given unrealistic, even impossible targets.
As you tutor or Tuition Centre owner (just like me) you can choose your own hours to work and teach children who really want to learn. Additionally, you will have to pay into your own pension- it won’t be paid for by the state. You won’t get paid if you’re ill. If you want to make a decent living you will probably hire staff. This is not the same as being a Head of Department or Headteacher. Furthermore,you will have to market or pay someone else to market your business. The amazing skills you have gained since being a teacher won’t help you with this.
BUT, the good news is, it can be done.
